Flight to Hoonah

We got to go on a fun flight to a little native village called Hoonah. It's about a 20 minute flight from Juneau, so the perfect length with the boys. It's a beautiful place--lots of bear sightings around here. Too bad we only got to see proof that they were here on the runway. Bear scat.

Preston loves going flying with Greg. Especially when he gets to sit in the front seat. On this flight we sat in the back seat and as soon as Greg shut off the engine, Preston said loud and clear for all the passengers to hear, "Thank you Dad!"

Preston was so excited to wear his new Alaska shirt because his cousin Charlie has the same one.
Happy Sam.

Happy Birthday Greg!

Or as Preston says it, "Happy Boofday Geg!"

I made cinnamon rolls for my first time--and Greg was so nice to say that he likes them doughy.
Preston couldn't wait to open presents. He had two of them opened before we even got downstairs.
And of course the main event---Boofday CAKE!
Aren't these boys so cute?

Sam's day to shine

Sam started rolling over, and after trying unsuccessfully for 6 days to get it on video, I finally caught him! (Preston couldn't figure out why I didn't want a video of him rolling over.)
He's so proud of himself every time he does it. And he's got a proud big brother.

Mt. Roberts Hike

On Greg's day off this week we decided to go for a hike up Mt. Roberts which is in Downtown Juneau. Preston did great! He walked the whole way up and only had to be carried down because he wanted to keep going "up mountain." It was a great hike, and so beautiful! We are definitely being blessed with the good weather this year.

There are waterfalls like this one all over the mountains in Southeast Alaska. Never get tired of seeing waterfalls.

The Gingerbread Man

For Christmas we gave Preston "The Gingerbread Man" book and it has become one of his favorites--one that we read pretty much every day. Well I was a little upset when I read this version and the fox eats the gingerbread man at the end, instead of the happy versions where the gingerbread man gets away and lives with the nice old woman and old man. So I keep telling Preston that the gingerbread man is only a cookie (more for my own sake than for his). Anyway, we decided to make our own cookie man today----how did I do?

Preston loved the gingerbread man. He watched me make the whole thing and he even watched it bake.
We even SNAPPED our gingerbread man like the fox does.
Had to throw in this shot of Sam.

Cute boys

Sam is 4 1/2 months old and 18 POUNDS!!! So much to love in this chubby little guy. Preston, on the other hand, weighs in at a very light 25 pounds.

Preston now copies everything we do--seeing a 2-yr old
walking with his hands in his pockets is very picture-worthy,

LOVE THESE BOYS!!!

Alaska again!

Well we're here in Juneau again and finding fun things to do in our BEAUTIFUL weather (which we never knew Juneau could have).

Daddy's little copilot.
Love this walkway.

Outer Point. We saw several killer whales over here yesterday.
Greg was lucky enough to drive the 40 hours to Skagway with my brother Dan.
